What is the operating system CentOS


It is an operating system belonging to the family Linux. This operating system, CentOS, based on the OS Red Hat. It was originally created in USA. Use the following desktop environments: GNOME, KDE.
The KDE Desktop is the great alternative to Gnome, the most used desktop in linux. It consumes a little less resources than Gnome but it is still heavy and very customizable as well.
Use cases:

  • CentOS serves as a web server.
  • This distro is thought to be a workstation operating system.
  • This distro it can be used from a flash drive or CD without having to install it on the PC.

aarch64, ppc64le, x86_64

This operating system has a good user base so there will be more resources on forums and websites when developing or using it.
